Quilting Workshop
Patchwork is primarily an American needlework technique that has spread worldwide recently. It is about sewing together odd pieces of fabric of different colors and/or texture, based on a pattern, in order to create useful handicraft, i.e. bedcovers, throws, pillows, tablecloths, bags, etc.

The “Magical Art of Patchwork” was presented for the first time in January 2004 at the Cultural Center during a very successful event, graciously supported by Mrs. Selma Kenter, President of the Turkish Quilters’ Association. The Quilting Workshop started its operation thereafter with Mrs. Myrto Vlassopoulou as instructor. Since then several units were created, and the exhibition of student masterpieces takes place every two years. During the last exhibition in 2008, the talented ladies of Tegea proudly presented their works to a large crowd of admirers.

Music Lessons
Music Lessons at the Attiko Conservatory of Tripolis continue for the 7th year under the guidance of Mr. George Katralis. Students can learn guitar, bouzouki, bongo drum, the clarinet and piano (theory and practice), and take part in the Foundation’s Musical Department with its support.

Dance Lessons
In an effort to sustain and promote Greek traditions, the Foundation offers folk dance and song lessons to the children of Tegea as well as adults. The 6 dance units are taught by Mr. George Liaros. More information at “Tegea” Dance Society.
